The driver had a flat on the passenger side of the vehicle and was parked on the inside shoulder partially blocking the left lane. 220 checked on the driver and then called St. Louis City Police. 220 tried to direct traffic away from the fast lane but given his position, under a bridge and visually blocked by the bridge supports, he came close to getting struck himself. Two police cars arrived minutes later, shut down the highway, and got the vehicle over to the shoulder. One of the officers thanked 220 for his help.

Both motorists thanked 220 for his assistance.

November 24, 2003 - 3:15pm - Unit #220 assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol, MODOT, Sunset Hills Police, and Fenton Fire Departments with a tractor-trailer wreck on the on-ramp from I-270 sounthbound onto I-44 westbound. The truck hit the guardrail at the bottom of the ramp, jack-knifed, and flipped over causing a major fuel spill. 220 assisted by helping the MSHP block the ramp when it was time to remove the truck from the scene. During that time, 220 warned other oncoming motorists of the problem by parking at the top of the ramp and contacting passing truckers on CB Channel 19 and warning them of the closed ramp to I-44. 220 left the scene at 6:45pm and ended up making friends with the MSHP officer that was on the scene with him and her sergeant.

November 25, 2003 - 7:25pm - Unit #02 was on his way home on southbound I-255 at exit 9 in Dupo, IL when he came across three vehicles with flat tires. Two were on the shoulder and one was blocking the fast lane. 02 stopped behind the car in the fast lane and turned his lights on. Within a minute, an Illinois State Trooper pulled up behind 02 and asked him to pull onto the shoulder behind the other two cars until the IDOT arrived. Once the IDOT truck arrived a few minutes later, 02 left the scene. 02 gathered that they ran over something but he couldn't find the object.

Luckily, 220 had a list of tow truck companies on him, and the driver used this list to provide a lift back home safely. By 10:30pm, the driver had located a tow truck to take him home. 220 provided traffic control while the tow truck operator hooked up the truck. The motorist thanked 220 for helping him out.

November 26, 2003 - 9:15pm - While responding to the above call, 220 noticed something that didnt appear right and so he doubled back to westbound I-70 at Hwy 79 just to be sure. 220 spotted a vehicle on the shoulder with its spare tire on but the tools were left outside. A woman popped out of the van and stated that her husband had just left to get the tire repaired, and hadn't returned. Her four sons were in the van with her and during the time that the woman's husband was gone, the van ran out of gas, killing the battery in the process. 220 went and got gas and then jump started the woman's van with the battery charger and they went on their way. Sensing the urgency to get vehicles out of the fat lane, 220 turned on his emergency lights and slowed down. Within aminute, the vehicle was on its way but it was unclear what the problem was. 220 followed the driver to Olive Blvd and to a parking lot and checked on him just to make sure.
