7, 2000 - 10:00pm - Unit #220 and unit #65 assisted a motorist
and his family on eastbound I-44 just east of Bowles Ave. 220 checked
to see if they needed any help and found that the driver had already
called for a tow truck.

October 8, 2000 - 3:35pm - Unit #220 stayed
behind a vehicle that was about to be towed on Hwy 40 west of Chesterfield
Parkway West. The tow truck had just arrived, and the operator needed
traffic control while he hoisted the car onto the tow.
October 8, 2000 - 9:05pm - Unit #220 stayed
behind a vehicle that was in a tricky predicament on I-55 south
of Imperial/Main Street exit near Imperial. The driver had just
run out of gas and was stopped against the guardrail. 220 stayed
behind the vehicle with his lights on and left the scene after the
owner's father showed up with some fuel.
October 8, 2000 - 10:30pm - Unit #220
assisted Kirkwood Police with an overturned vehicle accident on
I-44 east of Big Bend Blvd. 220 helped by shutting down two lanes
of traffic with road flares and helped direct traffic into the far
left lanes. Two people were seriously injured and the SUV they were
driving was totaled. The highway was re-opened about 11:40pm.
October 9, 2000 - 6:40pm - Unit #220 spotted
a stranded motorist on the shoulder of southbound I-270 just north
of I-55. 220 couldn't get to the shoulder in time so he radioed
to unit #65 to check on her. 65 stopped behind the motorist with
his lights on and asked her if she needed any help. She told 65
her car overheated and she needed some water. 65 got his container
of water from his car and filled her radiator. 220 turned around
and stopped behind 65's car and provided traffic control so she
could pull back out onto the Interstate.
October 13, 2000 - 10:45pm - Unit #220
assisted a motorist with a flat tire on I-270 south of Manchester
Road.
October 15, 2000 - 8:40pm - Unit #220
came across a stranded motorist out of fuel on westbound I-44 near
the Beaumont/Antire exit. The driver stated he had help on the way
so, after a few minutes, 220 left the scene.
October 21, 2000 - 8:05pm - Unit #65 assisted
a stranded motorist blocking the left lane of eastbound Gravios
Road at I-270. The motorist already called for a tow truck so 65
stayed behind her with his lights on to warn the other motorists.
Within a few minutes, a Sunset Hills Police Car pulled up behind
65. The officer said he would stay behind the motorist. He thanked
65 for his help.

October 21, 2000 - 10:30pm - Unit #220
tried to assist a motorist with a flat tire on northbound I-270
north of Manchester Road. The driver was on the phone with his mother
when 220 arrived. 220 gave the driver a list of 24 hour towing companies
and then waited until the tow truck arrived.
October 28, 2000 - 10:12pm - Unit #220
helped the Missouri State Highway Patrol assist a large family passing
through from Ironton, Missouri on Route 61-67 three miles south
of I-55. Their van had broken down on the side of the road and 220
assisted by taking two family members to a gas station to use the
pay phone and call for help. 25 minutes later, a Missouri State
Highway Patrol officer arrived on scene and together,they drove
the family members to Pippin's Towing, where relatives could pick
the family up.
October 30, 2000 - 4:00pm - Unit #220
was in the process of picking up a delivery for his courier service
when he came across heavy traffic on northbound I-170 south of I-270.
It turned out that a four vehicle accident with injuries was blocking
the right lane to head east on I-270. 220 turned on his lights,
parked, and radioed his dispatcher at work to call 911. After getting
a status on the number of injuries, 220 proceeded to direct traffic
around the vehicles and then used his traffic cones to shut down
the right lane. Within minutes, a Hazelwood Police officer arrived
on scene. 220 gave an injury report to the officer, which prompted
two Deaconess Hospital ambulances' to arrive, along with another
Hazelwood officer. 45 minutes later, the scene was cleared but a
traffic was backed-up for three miles.
October 31, 2000 - 8:45pm - Unit #220
stopped and checked on three vehicles on the shoulder of I-270 south
of Theiss Rd. in South County. Only one vehicle was broken down
and the driver/owner stated that AAA was on the way so 220 left
the scene.
October 31, 2000 - 9:30pm - Unit #220
stopped behind a vehicle on the shoulder of I-270 north of J. Kelley
Memorial Drive in Town & Country. It turned out that the driver
was passing through from California and just needed help finding
the quickest way into Saint Charles. 220 gave him directions.
